Your herding dog has endless energy and you're running on empty trying to keep up.
Reactivity is a common problem! But it can snow ball fast, from simple pulling to barking, luging and growling.
You avoid walks, because you don't walk, its a sled race and you are the sled. It's a battle to stay on your feet.
Imagine a dog who channels that energy into focus, obedience, and joy. That's not a dream, that's possible.
You're not alone. All our trainers have been where you are now. But we can reshape that intense drive, it's what makes these dogs incredible when properly trained and guided. You need trainers who understand herding breeds and a community that listens and supports, someone who gets it.
We specialise in services that help solve your specific problem. Which of these boxes do you fit in?
We get it. Life is hectic. From kids to work, to the hidden pressures of the world. At the moment you might not have the time to train your dog. We can help with that!
This is why we run our Stay & Train service. You concentrate on life, and we can make sure you dog gets trained and has a blast doing it! Let us give you a head start on reactivity, loose lead walking or socialisation.
Loose lead walking doesn't have to be a battle. We teach practical techniques that transform walks from exhausting to enjoyable, giving you back control and confidence.
Loose lead walking is one of the biggest skills we concentrate on in our Kick off course. Taking your dog walks and outings from exhausting to enjoyable in 6 weeks.
We want to make a best friend out of our dog. Let's make that dream come true. Young dogs or new dogs. Guiding them and teaching an animal isn't taught in school. But WE can teach you how to ensure your dogs become a well rounded member of your family.
Our Kick off course and Puppy school focus on the real life important skills. Both courses are the entry into our weekly classes if you want to continue your training! Our dog loving community is waiting for you!

"Amazing! I have been with NCK9A since July and they have helped significantly, I was struggling with my puppys reactivity, she was already well trained with all if her obedience except she had a reactivity towards other dogs. The trainers from NCK9A have helped me understand Xenas reactivity and helped me manage it and she is now getting much better. I have done group classes, Board and train where they personally work on your dog throughout the day, and private sessions with Sarah. 100% recommend and I could not recommend anyone better."

From reactive to confident

"I have been attending NCK9A for 2 1/2 years with a German Shepherd who was quite reactive towards other dogs. Now I can take her anywhere without any reactions to other dogs, no pulling on her lead anymore. The staff are absolutely amazing with the dogs and their owners."

"The trainers are friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. The class structure was fantastic and made a real difference in my dog's impulse control. I loved the real-world training sessions in the community. Highly recommend!"

Real difference in impulse control

"I went to the K9 Academy with a very challenging staffy and I was really struggling! It got to the point of possibly re-homing him. Then we found the K9 Academy and committed to regular training including some one on one training. I don't know where we would be if we hadn't joined the team. The trainers and other members are so incredibly supportive, understanding and generous. Don't get me wrong we have put in the time and a lot of work. But their training style and amazing knowledge have been invaluable to us. We love the K9 Academy."

Owner & Head Trainer
Bridget's journey started training animals with in the wildlife education space, focusing on training for enrichment and health, until she rescued a Dingo X. Cruiser was a pup nervous of the world, with strong wild instincts. No recall, never listened, she was brought to tears, but the light started to appear after training at NCK9A. Fast forward through years of learning, failing, and succeeding, Cruiser is joined by Landy, her high-drive working Kelpie mix. Using the same training methods, both dogs are happy and fulfilled.
